Frequently asked questions

Does the Boyer Brush fit my grill?

Standard bar grates (parallel bars with gaps between them): stainless steel, cast iron, porcelain-coated or enamelled. It does not work on expanded-metal grates (the stretched mesh with an open diamond pattern). The Mini is sized for portable grills, drum smokers and smaller grills.

How do I clean and care for it?

Turn the grill up to its highest setting and brush while it is hot, then rinse the head under hot water and hang it to dry. There are no replacement parts to buy.The five steps are on the How to use the Boyer Brush page.

How long does it last?

Years in normal use, following the instructions. Original: solid one-piece cast-aluminium frame and stainless-steel springs. Mini: painted cold-rolled steel frame and the same springs. The springs are rust-resistant and built for a hot grill.

Is it safe? Are there any wire bristles?

No wire bristles. The head is a row of stainless-steel springs set into the frame, not needle-like wires, so there are no wire bristles to shed. Like any metal tool, look at the head before you cook.

How does it clean?

The springs drop between the bars, scrape the top and sides, flex over debris, then spring back and keep scraping — best on a hot grill.
